How do Soilogix Fertilizers Work?

Plants have a symbiotic relationship with the microbes in the soil.  This means plants do things for the microbes that the microbes cannot to for themselves.  Similarly, soil microbes do things for the plant that plants cannot do for themselves.  Healthy soils contain billions upon billions of healthy microbes, whereas unhealthy soils contain few or none.

The beneficial effects of the microbes on the soil cannot be overstated and include, but are not limited to; Reducing soil compaction, increasing soil aeration, increasing nutrient retention and availability, buffering salts, protecting the root system from diseases and pests, providing essential organic acids and so on.  In return for these services, the plant naturally releases sugars, carbohydrates and protiens into the soil through is roots. These serve as the primary food source for the microbes.

What this means is that while the microbes have the ability to improve the soil conditions for the plant, they do not have the ability to feed themselves, while plants have the ability to feed the soil microbes but do not have the ability to improve the soil conditions.

When this relationship is in balance, successfully maintaining happy, healthy plants becomes much easier as Mother Nature does most of the work for us. All too often we put too much focus on the plant and not enough on the soil and its beneficial microbes.

So what's the answer? Giving both the plant AND the soil microbes what they need to promote the synergistic relationship between them.  This is the Soilogix effect.
